About This Stay
Herring’s recent renovation strikes a balance between playful and thoughtfully planned, decked out with opulent furnishings from the likes of Jardan, Ferm and the Jam Factory, making Herrings House a haven for lovers of finely curated interiors. You can thank the clever folks at revered design studio Fabrikate for that!
Polished timber floors and large whimsical windows give your stay a bright, airy, and inviting vibe, while the raw, edgy kitchen serves up a feast for the eyes.
Want a holiday with more elbow room? No worries! With multiple living zones, well-sized bedrooms and a secret loft, Herring's House offers an adaptable floorplan to comfortably accommodate your family and friends.
Downstairs we have a super king room, queen room, a ceremony and yoga room where the magic happens, and small single room (which becomes our massage room for retreats). Upstairs in the 'secret loft' we have 3 king singles. All up, Herrings House comfortably hosts 8 guests.
If you've got a green thumb or just appreciate farm-to-table fare, you'll enjoy the simple pleasures of the flourishing veggie patches and a coop with three very productive hens. We encourage you to cuddle the chooks and let the girls free range during the day, Ginger will meander past you as you sip tea and watch the flurry of birds natter in the gums. Maccers is the biggest hen and Beryl enjoys a snuggle the most. The longer you let them out for, the bigger and yellower your eggs will get and never fear, as the sun begins to set they’ll gather the troops and head back to their coupe ready for you to quietly click the gate shut.
Not just a pretty face, the property also features a magnesium pool, sprawling gardens, nooks, crannies and a gully view. It's the kind of place that makes you forget about your phone, your emails, your deadlines...
Herring's House places you just a 10-minute drive from the unspoiled beauty of Port Willunga’s surf beach and a pause from the Willunga township, where quaint brunch spots start the day just right and the renowned Russell’s Pizza slings its piping hot works of art well into a Saturday night — the perfect end to a day of winery hopping through Mclaren Vale.
